MPEG Streams ISO/IEC 13818 and ISO/IEC 11172 compliant. Accepts ATSC-compliant MPEG-2 Elementary, Packetized Elementary (PES), Transport and Program Streams and MPEG-1 System Streams
Video Decoder Decodes up to MP@HL (4:2:0) with bitrates up to 80 Mbps, 1920x1080i, 1280x720p, 720x576p, 720x576i, 720x480p or 720x480i.
Audio Decoder Decodes up to four input streams in the following formats:
  • MPEG-1 layers 1 and 2 (ISO/IEC 11172-3) (stereo)
  • MPEG-1 layer 3 (ISO/IEC 11172-3) when additional software decoder is installed (stereo)
  • ISO/IEC 13818-3.SMPTE 302M-1998 Uncompressed Audio (may contain up to 8 channels each)
  • WAV or AIFF PCM audio (stereo)
When IEC61937 or SMPTE 337M-2000 compressed output modes are specified the following formats will be output compressed on AES3 and Embedded audio outputs.
  • MPEG-1 layers 1, 2, and 3 (ISO/IEC 11172-3)
  • AC-3 & ATSC A/52
  • AAC (ISO/IEC 13818-7 1997)
Digital Bitstream Input Through PCI-Express bus interface (x1)
Video Output Scaling Decoded video is scaled as necessary to the selected output resolution. Aspect ratio as indicated in the original stream is maintained. The following output resolutions are supported:
  • 720p (1280x720, progressive) at 60Hz, 59.94Hz, 30Hz, 29.97Hz, and 25Hz frame rates.
  • 1080i (1920x1080, interlaced) at 30Hz, 29.97Hz, 25Hz, 24Hz, and 23.976Hz frame rates.
  • 1080p (1920x1080, progressive) at 30Hz, 29.97Hz, 25Hz, 24Hz, and 23.976Hz frame rates (restricted to 1024 lines of active video).
The field rate of the original stream must match the field rate of the selected output standard or be convertible via 3:2 pulldown. For example, a 720p 59.94Hz input stream may be output at 1080i 29.94Hz but not at 1080i 25Hz.
